Prior to 07.30 a self-serve continental can be made available for early travellers, from a choice of cereal, fruit, juice, muffins, croissants, hot cross buns, toast and homemade preserves. Special dietary requirements catered for. Please advise when booking. Two local taverns (approx. 100 yds) provide excellent evening meals with numerous other meal options a short drive away.



Hiking paths adjacent to the house leading to the Iron Age Hill fort of Dolberrow Warren, make The Mendip Gate an ideal base for Ramblers and Hillwalkers alike.

Tailored packages available for West Mendip Way hikers include collection and drop off at Trailheads, packed lunch, evening meal and luggage transfer to next destination. For guests taking our evening meal package, we will arrange a convenient time for you to enjoy our 'dish of the day' in a private dining room.
